Pastor Joe Voga serves as the founding pastor of New Harvest. He and his wife, Angela, have four children, Jonathon, Elizabeth, Grace and Jeremiah. Born and raised in Macon, Missouri, he spent all of his life in north-central Missouri prior to moving to St. Joseph.
He is a 1996 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Additionally, Pastor Joe has completed some graduate study through Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA. Prior to God's call to ministry, he served as the Director of Bands at Westran High School in Huntsville, MO.
It was during the time in Hunstville, MO that God began to work anew in his life. Pastor Joe was saved as a child through the ministry of Tenmile Baptist Church near Macon, MO. However, through his college years, he had backslidden from the Lord. It was through the ministry of First Baptist Church of Huntsville, that God worked to bring Joe back into a right-relationship with Him.
In the spring of 1997, Pastor Joe renewed his relationship with the Lord during a spring revival service. From that day forward, the Lord worked in his life to draw him into the music ministry, youth ministry and preaching ministry. He was licensed by First Baptist Church of Huntsville, later ordained into the Gospel ministry by First Baptist Church of Kirksville, and has served at New Harvest since moving to St. Joseph in 2002.
Pastor Joe's greatest passion is sharing with everyone the love and grace found in Jesus Christ. As an evangelist, he is often invited to preach revival services, youth services and special events. His wife Angela is a gifted vocalist and often shares in the work of the ministry at New Harvest and the many revival meetings they have led together.
In addition to his church ministry, Pastor Joe serves as a volunteer chaplain and firefighter for the South Central Buchanan County Fire Protection District.
