Children
Bible Drill
Each Wednesday evening children grades 4-6 are welcome to participate on our Bible Drill team. Each week children learn the books of the Bible and memorize Scripture through fun activities. Regular attendars will be able to participate on the team in local and state Bible Drill contests. Bible Drill meets each Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:30 at the Mid-Buchanan School
Children's Church
Every Sunday morning our children have the opportunity to attend a worship service just for their age! The children meet with the adults through all the worship songs and then are dismissed to attend their own time of Bible Study and Crafts in an age appropriate setting. All children ages 3 through 3rd grade are welcome to attend
New Harvest Seedlings
New Harvest Seedlings is a midweek ministry for children preschool-3rd grade. Seedlings meet each week in the Mid-Buchanan School from 6:30-7:30 PM. Each night is filled with Bible Stories, Games, Music, Crafts and, of course, Snacks! Our Seedlings ministry currently uses the TeamKid curriculum.
The Seedlings often prepare programs to share during our morning worship services. Other special activities are held throughout the year such as skating parties, bowling and meetings in the area parks.
Nursery
A nursery is available each Sunday morning for parents who desire it. The nursery is supervised at all times by members of the church who desire to help you. We know it can be difficult to concentrate on worship when a two-year old wants your concentration. Our volunteer nursery staff want to help you. Children ages birth-3 are welcome to stay in the nursery.
Sunday School
Sunday School offers the best time for children to have an opportunity to hear about the love of Jesus in an age-graded setting. Not only do our children have a great curriculum of Bible teaching to learn from, they have dedicated and caring teachers to guide them. Sunday school offers a time for them to grow in the Lord, while parents may also grow in their own time of Bible Study.
Our Sunday School meets each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM in the Mid-Buchanan School. A nursery Sunday School class is also provided.
Adults
Breaking Bread Groups
Breaking bread groups are randomly matched individuals who meet monthly to share a meal and time of relationship building in homes. Those interested in participating will have their names drawn each month and randomly matched with others interested in fun, food and fellowhship. For more information or to sign up, call Pastor Joe.
Men's Ministry
New Harvest has a missions minded ministry just for men! The men's ministry meets the second Saturday each month at 8:00 AM for a time of fellowship and breakfast at the Agency Firehouse. Each morning includes not only our own breakfast cooked by the men of our church, but a time of devotion and prayer as well. Additionally, the men's ministry serves our church and community in missions projects. Past projects include assisting widows with projects around their home, construction projects and assisting those who have been in accidents and become temporarily disabled in yard maintenance and other beneficial projects. All men are welcome to join us for any activity. You do not need to be a church member to participate. Additionally, if you have a need which our men can help meet, do not hesitate to let us know!
Mid-Week Bible Studies
New Harvest has Adult Bible Studies that meet through the week. The Bible studies meet in homes, restaurants and the school. We are always looking for places to start new Bibles Studies. If you would like for us to come lead a Bible Study in your home with your friends and neighbors, please let us know!
Sunday Morning Bible Study
Every Sunday morning, during our Sunday School time, our adults meet to study the Bible through an organized curriculum and small group discussion. It can be difficult to develop close relationships through a worship service alone, however, through the Adult Bible Study classes, relationships with other believers are built which last a lifetime. Often times, the greatest source of ministry to personal needs come through the Bible Study classes.
Additionally, parents can be assured that their children are well taken care of while they meet in our Adult Bible Study classes since we have our Sunday School for children at the same time, as well as having a nursery provided. Our Adult Bible Study classes are age-graded so that you can choose the class best suited for you!
Women's Ministry
The Women's ministry of New Harvest is open to any lady desiring Christian fellowship and an opportunity to serve in mission work. The Women's ministry meets monthly to share a time of prayer, devotion and service together. The Women of the church oversee the special offerings for International, North American and Missouri Missions as well as coordinating local mission endeavors. A recent project of the Women's Ministry was to sponsor a church-wide sale during the Agency Community Garage Sale to raise money to support a church member waiting a lung-transplant. Additionally the Women's Ministry coordinates the church's "Christmas Family" ministry to help buy gifts for families in our community who are under financial hardship. Childcare is provided for all meetings of the Women's Ministry.
